NASAT Labs officially kicked off its Science and Technology on Wheels (STOW) program at the University of the Philippines Diliman – Department of Mining, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering (UP DMMME) on June 14, 2023. This event marked the beginning of our journey to bring advanced scientific tools and learning experiences to schools and communities across the country.
During the event, students and faculty joined us for a day of short lectures and hands-on sessions featuring instruments such as the tabletop Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Simultaneous Thermal Analysis (DSC-TGA), UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, X-Ray Fluorescence Analyzer (XRF), Auto Titrator, and Water Quality Meters. Some students also brought their own samples, which added a more practical and engaging element to the experience.
We’d like to thank UP DMMME for hosting and supporting this initiative, and we’re also grateful to our partners—Sigmatech Inc., Hitachi, Horiba, and Precisa—for helping make this possible. To everyone who participated, thank you for being part of our first STOW visit. We’re looking forward to more stops ahead. Follow NASAT Labs on social media or visit our website to stay updated—your school might be next.
