About this Training

Water Analysis Techniques (WAT101) will discuss an overview of the clean water act and other administrative orders by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) regarding water quality criteria and approved methods of analysis. It will tackle proper sample collection technique, water sample storage, transportation, and preservation per water quality parameters as approved by the Philippines’ standards.

Water Analysis Techniques (WAT101) will also discuss the principles of the analysis of wastewater in pH, dissolved oxygen, biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, color, total suspended solids, oil and grease, inorganic phosphates, nitrates, and ammonia, using the approved methods set by the DENR. It will also discuss the different water quality parameters’ correlation with each other and their effects on the ecology of our water systems.

About the Speaker
Mark Anthony C. Esmael, RCh
Laboratory Head, NASAT Labs
Mac is the Laboratory Head at NASAT Labs with over 15 years of experience in QA, QC, Laboratory Operation and R&D. He specializes in advanced techniques such as particle size analysis, elemental analysis and more. Mac holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Polytechnic University of the Philippines and has received several units for Master of Science in Chemistry at De La Salle University. He has also acquired in-depth and factory training of advanced analytical instruments in countries like Singapore, China, etc.
